The Partnership for a Healthy Colorado seeks to bridge the divides, identify common values, and engender the political courage necessary to achieve meaningful, comprehensive health care reform in Colorado.
May 27, 2009 Meeting with Colorado's Congressional Delegates a Success
On May 27, 2009, the Partnership for a Healthy Colorado invited Colorado's congressional delegation to join us for a discussion about health care reform. Senator Bennet, Representative Perlmutter, and staff from Senator Udall and Representative Salazar's offices joined us. We've also been in close contact with Representatives DeGette, Polis, and Markey.
During the May 27 meeting, we demonstrated that access, affordability and cost, and the quality of health care are threatened by the current health care system. We asked the congressional delegation to become champions of health care reform, and support reforms that will help Coloradans. We offered the Partnership as a resource: we have the experience to maintain a diverse coalition, and our variety provides the delegation with “one-stop shopping” for reactions on health care policy.
